People who lived with him are better positioned to recognise if any part resembles his life.” As social media intensified comparisons between Ranveer Singh’s character and the late officer following the trailer launch, Madhur himself had posted concerns online. He clarified why the family still went ahead with the petition: “There was a 36–48 hour gap between my tweet and Aditya Dhar’s clarification. The petition was filed within that window.” Madhur maintains the family isn’t seeking compensation or credit, only transparency. “We’re not asking for anything. We just want empathy. If the film is inspired by him, acknowledge it. If not, state clearly that the speculation is incorrect.
